AND JUST TO PROVE MY POINT....

This was posted under Dr. DeWitt's discussion board so many of you will have already seen this. But since it proves my point from my previous blog, I thought I would add it.

  1. Oh boy! The lame background music, her facial expressions, the bad acting, the list continues. And this is how she is trying to make us feel like she is one of us. I completely agree about your point. The tea party is making a bad move by supporting this silly woman! She's silly and this ad was just lame. Point Taken!

  2. I've thought a little about what makes the Tea Party tick, and I think it comes down to a group of people who have a very superficial (shallow) knowledge of American politics. Where do they get this shallow knowledge? They get it by surfing the internet and reading simple things they can understand. They look for like-minded writers and speakers who can boil complex issues down to an overly simple black and white explanation that does not violate their simple common sense of how the world works. For this reason people like Christine O'Donnell and Sarah Palin do not appear silly to them. Paradoxically, the people who have actually gone to the trouble to do substantive research, obtain real knowledge about our world, are somehow regarded by Tea Partyers as "elitists." Go figure.
